2x vintage WW1 Gurkha Kukri Knives Nepal India
Both knives are in good condition with the normal age related wear you expect of something old, view pics for condition report.
2x Gurkha Kukri knives both have there leather sheaves. Kukri is the Nepalese chopping knife it is used to chop wood or slaughter animals. It is also the characteristic weapon of the Gurkha, a tribe from Nepal and the indian state of West Bengal. It was used in both World wars as well as other wars, the blade can vary in length from 10cm to more than 50cm. The handle is made from buffalo horn with silver inset into it. The centre of gravity is carefully constructed so you can balance the knife on a nail.
The larger Kukri comes in its leather sheath with a lion to the top of the handle, the length is 15' or 40cm
The smaller Kukri also comes in a leather sheath and has a lion to the top of the handle, there is also a smaller knife which slots into the sheath.
Both knives are in good condition with general age related wear you expect to find with something old. Some general wear and tear to the blade and sheath, please view pics as they form the biggest part of my description.
I got these knives from an old Nepalese man when I purchased my wives car, he told me that they were his fathers who used them in the War.
Weight is 650gms for both knives so the package when in box is 800gms.
Will be sent recorded signed for mail.
