Superb & large group sculpture, Art Deco period, ca. 1930, made of terracotta, signed Ugo Cipriani. IT represents two naked children feeding a young goat. Very good condition, original patina, no crack or splinter. Superb piece, very representative of the period. Length: 64.5 cm, width: approx. 19 cm, height: 32.5 cm, weight without packaging: 7,1 kg The photos are also parts of the description, registered shipping everywhere, neat packaging. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Ugo Cipriani, born in Florence in Italy on 13th August 1887, died in Paris on 18th June 1960, is an Italian sculptor. Son of the sculptor Adolfo Cipriani and Emilia Pancani, Ugo Cipriani is the 5th child out of 9 children. He resides in the neighbourhood of the Oltrarno, in Borgo San Frediano. After his scholarship at the Academy of fine arts of Florence, Ugo Cipriani worked marble, terracotta, bronze, alabaster in the spirit of the Art Deco movement of 1920. One of his best-known works, a bronze monument (1919) of the Italian irredentist and nationalist Guglielmo Oberdan, is located on Plaza Guglielmo Oberdan in Florence. In 1935, he emigrated to France to escape Mussolini’s fascist regime. He lived in Paris as a political refugee and continued to create until his death in 1960. A very prolific sculptor in France, some clues revealed he used pseudonyms such as Menneville and Uriano.
