A beautiful and intact Jacoba jug from the 15th century. This copy is excavated from Foppingaterp in Dronrijp, Friesland. These jugs were made in Siegburg and delivered by jug skippers via the Rhine to the Netherlands. Height: 22 cm Diameter pour opening: 7 cm Circumference belly: 45 cm. The supplier warrants that he has obtained this lot in a legal way. The lot comes from the collection of his grandfather, Mr K.M. van der Kooi, between 1930 and 1970, GP in Dronrijp, Friesland. In his waiting room doctor Van der Kooi had various display cases in which he liked to display archaeological finds from mounds in the area, with the name of the person from whom he had gotten them. By responding to the vanity of his patients, he managed to create a sizable collection.
