This model has been in use since the 18th century, each slightly different versions. The IOD was carried by infantry officers and officials.
Also used as an association weapon.
This offered piece is in very good condition for its age, the leather sheath shrunken - (dried out). This results in a small opening between the receptacle and the mouth plate of the scabbard, scabbard suture completely closed.
Blade slightly tarnished but not rusted. Please see the photo description.
