The artist Jan Herman Coster lived and worked in Almelo, Amsterdam [1874 t / m 1909] Tubbergen and Apeldoorn. Pupil of A. Allebe and B.Wijnveld Jr; and from H.Valkenburg. Painted and drew Twente landscapes and still lifes. Was a member of Arti et Amicitiae in Amsterdam. He has had many exhibitions in Amsterdam, Rotterdam, and the Hague. Work in various museums, including the Frans Hals museum, Haarlem, Rijksmuseum Twente in Enschede. Versatile artist. Excellent artist who often painted the Twente landscape and also made many still lifes. as a pupil of August Allebe and befriended artist Jan de Jonge.
