very good condition
A Tibetan Temple red copper shrine incense burner, decorated with silver plated ornamentation in repousse technique. On the belly part there are three ornaments with in the centre the Sino Tibetan dragon.
The incense burner used in one of the Tibetan holy temples to incense the Buddha statues, done by the highest monk in the temple.
It has a handle, with near the bowl a wooden ring so the last part of the handle wouldn't get hot from the burning incense.
i have enclosed 1 photo ( the last one) of a Tibetan temple shrine room, to get an idea in which environment the incense burner used to stay.
The incense burner is in original and good condition.Has one small indention.
The size is 27 cm long, 13 cm high, the burner has a diameter on the rim of 14 cm, and the handle is 14 cm long.
It is a very rare piece, never seen before.
It was given to me in the 1960 as a present from a Tibetan family. The father looked after a temple nearby. It can be made around this period, or earlier.
They called it a Sang tongh sa.
See the last photo of the exact description in Tibetan language.
