This biological microscope No. 733702 is a Biolam C1Y42, early 70s, manufactured by Lomo, Leningrad, USSR in the, after the second world war confiscated and to Russia shifted, Carl Zeiss Jena/-factories, hence this quality!
This rock-solid, indestructible, biological microscope has surprisingly many options:
- Sturdy stand, with coarse and fine tuning:
- Tubus at an angle of 45 °, 360 ° rotating;
- Eyepieces: 5X and 10X.
- Lenses: 8X-0,20, 40X-0,65(spring loaded), 90X1,25(spring loaded, oil) and extra a 5X0,10 Hertel & Reuss on quadruple turret which gives
a magnification range of 25X up to 900X;
- Cross-table that moves the preparation very carefully along the X and Y axes (both with Vernier scale) (Not original, does fit and is functional);
- Light by means of double-sided mirror or a universal led light (batteries included) adjustable by Abbe-condenser with Aperture and
opaque filter
- Small parts in a plastic box: slides, cover slips, tweezers and oil bottle (empty);
This microscope has very little wear, the optics are clear and clean, mechanical functions run smoothly and without slack
The box does not look that nice anymore, but is completely functional, without lock. The case now closes à la Russe (nail, see picture). There is a German manual for Biolam in general.
The microscope weighs 3.2 kg, with case 6.9 kg and dimensions are H 31 X W 16 X L 21 cm.
The micro pictures made with this microscope were taken with the led light and a USB eyepiece (not included).
