Very rare: vintage teddy bear cub by the famous house Steiff. Thanks to its features, it can be confirmed it dates from before 1910. It is 32 cm. It is mohair filled with straw, articulated, with 4 black embroidered claws on its paws (one claw is missing on its right arm) and it has the characteristic hump on its back. It has boot button eyes and the famous metal button on the left ear marked with the font used between 1906 and 1924 (with the second ‘f’ stretched in the shape of an arch). There are some signs of wear, particularly on the felt of its feet (see photos) but it is in fairly good condition for a toy that is more than 100 years old that has survived 2 world wars.
