Nice pendant Faberge egg 24k gold plated, late 20th,after the Bolshevik Revolution in 1917, Faberge was exiled to Switzerland, where he died in 1920. His great granddaughter, Tatiana Faberge, wrote "The History of the House of Faberge." She was in town to visit Louis Anthony Jewelers, which carries the limited edition reproductions of the eggs. This spring, a collection of eggs set to be auctioned individually at Sotheby's was instead sold to a Russian businessman. The Fabergé family originated in France but was forced to leave the country due to religious persecution. During the 18th century, the family settled in Russia. Peter Carl Fabergé was born on May 30, 1846, the son of a goldsmith. After apprenticing with several master goldsmiths in Germany, France and England, Peter Carl Fabergé returned to St. Petersburg a highly accomplished craftsman. In 1885, Peter Carl Faberge presented the first Imperial Egg to Czar Alexander III and soon became the most famous jeweler in the world.
