Beautiful Sea Turtle Shell, Hand carved, in low relief with figures,
Colonial Heritage, ca. 1940 - 1950 This piece was all handcrafted, with Animals and African Lifestyle motifs.
It's a fabulous and Rare piece of decoration.
You will not see many of these species to sell because it is an endangered species and super protected. It inhabits the tropical seas.
This species has been used for the production of luxury products for centuries, is currently considered as being in critical danger of extinction......unfortunately.....
Cheloniidae is a family of typically large marine turtles that are characterised by their common traits such as, having a flat streamlined wide and rounded shell that has to have almost paddle-like flippers for their forelimbs
This Shell comes from a private collection in Portugal. This is a piece of Natural Art Museum.
