In very good original and restored condition
A mahogany chest of drawers manufactured in the Netherlands during the late Louis XVI / Directoire period around 1800. Manufactured from among others pine, oak, and mahogany and veneered with beautifully drawn mahogany. This relatively large chest of drawers has a sober and yet stately design. And is unusual, presumably to the English en vogue, performed with five good running dove tailed drawers.
The chest of drawers still has the 18th century locks in the smaller drawers in the larger drawers these are once replaced with 19th century locks. The key works on all locks. Under the top there is a profiled frame. The chest of drawers rests on four high tapered legs. The entire chest of drawers has a lovely warm orange brown colour and is in its authentic wax finishing which has a beautiful silky shine.
Dimensions: Height: 101 cm, width: 120 cm, depth: 49 cm.
