Beautiful vase (h. 14.5 cm) of the artist Jules Sarlandie. The vase is enamel on copper and has a nice gradient, from dark aubergine to a light blue/green neck. The belly of the vase is decorated with orange-red flowers. The tear-dropped shape of the vase is a much used form in the Art Nouveau.
The vase is signed at the neck.
Jules Sarlandie (1874-1936), belongs to the enamellist generation in Limoges, that, together with artists like Camille Fauré, Paul Bonnard, Ernest Blancher and Alexandre Marty, breathed new life into enamel art, artisticly. Therefore, their work is very popular among collectors and can be found back in various museums.
Condition:
- the vase has a number of small restorations. The first letters of the signature are lost. Please see the photos as well.
